Why we exist

Indian businesses buy software in rupees, pay 18% GST, file PF and ESI, and often keep their books in Tally. Most software lists are written for US buyers, show US-dollar prices with no date, and don't say which entries are paid. SaaS Helms ranks business software for Indian small and mid-sized businesses, shows ₹ prices from the vendor's own pricing page with the date we checked them, and tells you exactly how each score was worked out.

What makes us different

When we reviewed 50 Indian and global software directories and review sites in October 2026, we found none that does all of the following. We do:

  • India-first rankings. Lists are scored for Indian SMEs, with "Fit for Indian SMEs" as the heaviest criterion (25%).
  • INR prices verified on a date. Every price comes from the vendor's pricing page and shows the date we checked it, excluding and including 18% GST.
  • India notes on every entry: GST invoicing and e-invoice, PF/ESI for payroll and HR tools, Tally sync, WhatsApp, data stored in India.
  • Public scoring. Our seven criteria and their weights are published, and every score has a breakdown.
  • Dated re-ranks. Prices are re-checked monthly for each list's top 5 and quarterly for the rest; every list is re-ranked each quarter, and each change is logged.
  • Honest testing labels. Each entry says "Tested by SaaS Helms" or "Researched, not tested". At launch, every entry is researched.

How we're funded

We earn money only from labelled sponsored placements in positions 4–10 of a list. Sponsors can't buy a score, a top-3 spot or the removal of cons. At launch no placements have been sold. Details: How we make money.
